Huey the Ladybug

Finally got around to drawing my ladybug persona. It was a pleasure and a pain to draw him. The background really took it out of me, but I’ve been trying to not take the easy way out when it comes to those. I ended up liking it in the end 😂 took a lot of work, but it really set the aesthetic.

I think I had the more fun drawing the wings. I had to use a few references and it took some time to get the exact look that I wanted. There’s a lot of texture and detail that goes into Ladybug that I had NO IDEA about!

In the universe I’m creating, Ladybugs are humble beings that find a partner when they’re young and mate for life once they turn 18. However, Huey is approaching his 18th birthday and has yet to find a partner. He has a very positive exterior and is caring and gentle towards others. However, on the inside he wonders if something is wrong with him because he is unable to connect with other ladybugs and find his partner. 🥺 *hugs Huey* Don’t worry hun. You’re perfect and you’ll find her!
